Who we are
For more than 40 years, The Salvation Army London Community Services has been serving individuals and families throughout London, Ontario with practical support, compassionate care, and a message of hope.
Today, our team adopts a holistic perspective to help people overcome challenges and discover a real sense of belonging. Guided by faith and a commitment to serving others, we create opportunities for individuals and families to find support, build connections, and experience hope in meaningful and practical ways.
While meeting basic needs remains vital, our focus has evolved beyond transactional assistance. We prioritize relationship-based support that reflects compassion, dignity, and respect. Through empathetic care and listening, we build trusting relationships that support the practical, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being of the people we serve.
Growing with our Community
In 2022, London Community Services began a new chapter as an independent Salvation Army ministry unit and relocated its administrative offices from The Salvation Army London Centre of Hope to 310 Vesta Road, London, Ontario, home of The Salvation Army Hillcrest Community Church.
This transition allowed us to expand our presence beyond a single building and deliver services directly in neighbourhoods across the city. Today, London Community Services works alongside other Salvation Army ministry units, local schools, and community agencies. We offer integrated support through our three local Salvation Army Corps (church) locations:

By creating these multiple entry points throughout London, we are able to offer welcoming and safe spaces where people can connect, grow, access support, and build meaningful relationships closer to home.

We are committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. Whether helping someone navigate an immediate challenge or supporting their long-term goals, we strive to build pathways toward greater stability and well-being. By listening, learning, and adapting, we ensure our programs continually evolve to meet the changing needs of our community.
Purposeful
We are intentional in the way we walk alongside individuals and families, taking time to build relationships, listen to their stories, and understand what matters most to them. Rooted in our faith, we seek to create opportunities for connection, offer encouragement, and provide spiritual care when welcomed, while respecting each person's unique experiences, beliefs, and journey. By serving with compassion and purpose, we build trusting relationships that encourage hope, growth, and transformation.
Inclusive
We believe every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. We welcome people of all backgrounds, cultures, identities, abilities, and beliefs, taking time to build trust, recognize individual needs, and approach each person without assumptions. By fostering a culture of belonging, we create welcoming spaces where everyone feels respected, valued, and able to participate fully in community life.
Looking Ahead
Today, through community-based programs, system navigation services, newcomer initiatives, children's programs, and activities for adults and seniors, we strive to walk alongside people at every stage of life. Our goal is not only to respond to immediate challenges, but also to create opportunities for connection, belonging, personal growth, and hope.
As our community continues to change, so do the ways we serve. Guided by our commitment to be Impactful, Purposeful, and Inclusive, we remain dedicated to listening, learning, and responding to emerging needs through cohesive planning, innovative programming, and strong community partnerships.
As a ministry of The Salvation Army, we are committed to sharing the love of Jesus Christ, meeting human needs, and being a transforming influence in our community. We believe every person has value, every story matters, and every individual deserves to experience acceptance, connection, and belonging.
The story of London Community Services continues to be written every day through the participants we serve, the volunteers who give their time, and the neighbourhoods we are privileged to be part of.
